— About the Founder

Founded by long-time journalist and thought leader Carla Zuill

The first Women’s Empowerment Summit was held November 2016, the vision of thought leader and long-time journalist Carla Zuill.

She envisioned a safe space for women from across Bermuda to gather and share their challenges, triumphs and vulnerabilities but most importantly a space where women could be their authentic selves without judgement.

What was supposed to be a one-off has turned in a powerful movement, with 29 November 2025 marking the 10th anniversary of the Women’s Empowerment Summit.

Carla is the mother of three and is passionate about sharing the voices of those who think no one may be listening.

She is also the founder of www.shehub.tv and Zuill PR Group.

What Past Attendees Are Saying

Real voices. Real impact.

POWERFUL, INSPIRING, ENCOURAGING, SUPPORTIVE are just a few words I describe for the Women’s Empowerment Summit. WES is a platform that has been created as a safe place for women to come together and discuss all things that pertain in our lives. Being a member of the audience as well as a presenter I’ve encountered strong, encouraging, supportive women who are now like family to me.
Devonna S.
If you have ever yearned for a great conversation, a better understanding of what every woman is facing but it's too taboo to discuss, the WES is what you are looking for. In 2020/21/22, when our world looked so bleak and we were in need of positive and fulfilling socialization, the WES virtual conference was so fulfilling. If you havent had the pleasure of attending a conference, you are missing out on so much goodness. For as long as WES is happening, I'll be attending.
Charla G.
The WES has grown from strength over the last decade. That is staying power that Carla should be proud of! I am looking forward to seeing many more years of longevity for this iconic space for women.
